The wellbeing and safety of our staff members, customers and the community are of great importance to us. Hence, Maxim’s Group will donate a total of 200,000 surgical face masks to the elderly and visually impaired through four social welfare organisations, namely Food Angel, Ebenezer School and Home for the Visually Impaired, The Hong Kong Blind Union, and The Hong Kong Federation of the Blind, to help prevent coronavirus infection in the community. 100,000 of the total mask donation will be dedicated to our long-term partner Food Angel, and 40,000 MX meal coupons worth over HK$2M and some food items will also be donated for sharing with elderly friends, who can redeem a set meal per coupon at over 50 MX outlets in Hong Kong.
Maxim’s Group shares the public’s concern over the insufficient face mask supply in the market amid the coronavirus outbreak. Our team has been making every effort to secure face masks from various regions for our frontline and operations use, and we understand that there are urgent needs in the community. For example, some elderly do not have masks for visits to hospitals/ clinics and some visually impaired failed to buy any mask after hours of waiting in line. With our humble effort, we wish to share our resources with those in need and the community. Volunteers will start distributing masks, meal coupons and food items from 24 February by batch. We wish everyone good health and will encourage the elderly and the blind to maintain good personal hygiene.
While our Group has put in place various precautionary measures, we will continue our global sourcing of protective items. Together with our staff and the community, we fight coronavirus!
